Scope
1.1 This specification covers glass fiber unsupported needled felt binder-free insulation for thermal insulation. This material is used as the thermal insulation component in the fabrication of insulation systems for use on machinery and equipment, such as steam turbines, boilers, boiler feed pumps, and piping at temperatures up to 1200°F (650°C).
1.2 This standard does not purport to address the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
