This Federal Specification remains active, even though many similar Fed Specs have been cancelled. Issued in 1961, it replaced QQ-S-636 from June, 1941. You'll want to make sure you're using Amendment 4 with this document, as many of the references in the original spec are obsolete and corrected by the amendment.
