This report covers specifications, standards, and amendments received in the period from 1 January 1997 through 30 April 1997. Special emphasis has been placed on documentation in the category TMSS (Technical Manual Specification & Standards). However, other documents with widespread appeal are also included.

MIL-PRF-5096, Revision F, 03/01/96: Manuals, Technical - Inspection and Maintenance Requirements; Acceptance and Functional Check Flight Procedures and Checklists, Inspection Work Cards; and Checklists; Preparation of.

This revision provides status as a performance specification and provides a level of detail necessary to comply with the requirements of JCALS (Joint Computer-Aided Acquisition and Logistics Support). Changes are extensive.

MIL-PRF-5288, Revision H, 03/01/96: Manuals, Technical and Checklists - Preparation of Cargo Aircraft Loading and Offloading.
Changes are extensive in this new revision. This performance specification contains provisions that are the subject of air standardization agreement ASCC AIR STD 44/16. It also provides the level of detail (SGML markup tags) necessary to comply with the requirements of JCALS.

MIL-PRF-5920, Revision F, 03/01/96: Manuals, Technical: Sample Basic Weight Checklists and Loading Data.
This revised performance specification covers the Sample Basic Weight Checklists and Loading Data aircraft manuals. Both paper copy delivery and electronic delivery are covered, with the inclusion of a DTD (Document Type Definition) in the Appendixes. Changes are extensive.

MIL-PRF-8031, Revision F, 08/29/96: List of Applicable Publications (LOAP) - Preparation.
This revised performance specification again provides a DTD in the Appendix to be used in the preparation of the list of publications. Changes are extensive.

MIL-PRF-9977, Revision K, 05/01/96: Manuals, Technical and Checklists: Munitions/Weapons Loading Procedures, Nonnuclear and Nuclear and Packages, Standard Data: Munitions Loading Procedures, Nonnuclear.
This performance specification has extensive changes from the previous revision. DTD's in Appendixes A through J provide for electronic delivery of data in compliance with the JCALS system.

MIL-PRF-9994, Revision C, 09/01/96: Technical Manuals - Mobile Training Sets and Part Task Trainers Operation and Maintenance Instructions.
There are extensive changes in this revised performance specification. For JCALS compliance, DTD's are approved by the preparing activity.

MIL-PRF-38413, Revision D, 03/01/96: Technical Manual and Flight Crew Checklists for Air Refueling Procedures.
The level of detail in this newly revised performance specification supports the JCALS system. Changes are extensive from the last issue.

MIL-PRF-38769, Revision D, 07/01/96: Manuals, Technical: Work Unit Code - Preparation of.
This newly revised performance specification prescribes the requirements for WUC (Work Unit Code) manuals for Air Force Equipment. It supports JCALS through the inclusion of a DTD subset in Appendix B. Changes are extensive.

MIL-PRF-38804, Revision C, 03/01/96: Time Compliance Technical Orders - Preparation.
This performance specification prescribes the general style and format requirements for creating TCTOs (Time Compliance Technical Orders) and TCTO supplements. It provides for JCALs compliance with the inclusion of DTDs in Appendixes A and B. Changes in this new revision are extensive.

MIL-PRF-49501, Revision A, 10/11/96: Manuals, Technical: Daily Preventive Maintenance Checklist.
This performance specification contains requirements for the preparation of an operator's pocket-size, Preventive Maintenance Checklist (PMC) for all equipment except aircraft. Changes are extensive.
