About President Claudia Bach

Claudia Bach has owned Document Center Inc. since January, 1985. She has presided over the development of Document Center from an idea in a garage into an internationally respected standards distribution service.

Ms. Bach received her Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of the Pacific, magna cum laude, with a degree in piano performance. She obtained extensive practical background in accounting and management from her previous experience in the television industry.

Ms. Bach received international attention on the early adoption (1993) of the Internet by Document Center, including an article in Forbes magazine.

An acknowledged expert on standards, Ms. Bach is a fellow of the Standards Engineering Society. She authored a column that appeared regularly in the Journal of the Society for Technical Communication, fulfills frequent speaking engagements, and has published other articles on standards issues. She has been active in the Special Libraries Association, having served for three years as the Chair of the Standards Committee of the Engineering Division of the national organization. Additionally, Ms. Bach has served on the ANSI Standards and Data Services Committee.

She currently resides in San Carlos, CA. with her husband and enjoys hiking, swimming, and playing her Steinway grand.
