ASTM-D3553 › Standard Test Method for Fiber Content by Digestion of Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites (Withdrawn 2000)
The following bibliographic material is provided to assist you with your purchasing decision:
Scope
1.1 This test method covers the digestion method for the determination of the fiber content of metal matrix composites. The test method used is based on the digestion of the matrix metal by a suitable acid or base that does not attack the fibers excessively (maximum 2% weight loss).
1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. For specific safety precautions, see Section 7.
