Scope
1.1 This guide provides a procedure for the computerization of existing equipment. This guide describes a systematic process for the specification, selection, and acquisition of a computer system that is to be added to, or made a part of, some item of existing equipment. The phases of the process are discussed and the documentation that may be required at each stage is described.
1.2 This guide follows the outline of Guide E622. It addresses only those things necessary for the computerization of existing equipment. If it is found that any portion of the system needs to be designed, use the more detailed procedure described in Guide E622. In some cases Guide
