Scope
1.1 This guide covers a phased, integrated process for documenting computerized systems. System documentation begins with initial system definition, extends through system implementation and evaluation, and continues after the system is placed on-line in an operational mode. Portions of the system documentation are suggested for distribution to various persons involved with the system, depending on their level of involvement and responsibility. The amount of detail to be included in each of these documents is described.
1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
