Composite Materials Handbook - Volume 1 - Polymer Matrix Composites Guidelines or Characterization of Structural Materials

Scope

Volume I - Provides guidelines for the characterization of composite material systems to be used in aerospace vehicles and structures. Composite material systems must normally be evaluated in accordance with these, or equivalent guidelines, in order to be considered acceptable by government certification and procuring agencies.

For Department of Defense purposes, this handbook is for guidance only. This handbook cannot be cited as a requirement. If it is, the contractor does not have to comply. This mandate is a DoD requirement only; it is not applicable to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or other government agencies.
