CALIBRATION SYSTEMS REQUIREMENTS (REPLACED BY ISO-10012 and ANSI-Z540.3)
This MIL-STD provides requirements for the establishment and maintenance of a calibration system to control the accuracy of measuring and test equipment (M&TE) and measurement standards used to assure that supplies and services delivered to the Government comply with prescribed technical requirements.
When I took over Document Center in the 1980's, this was one of our 3 biggest sellers. So when it was cancelled during Mil-Spec reform in the 1990's, it really caused a stir. Now folks use either the ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 (the replacement for the ANSI-Z540.1).
