This International Standard specifies a qualitative method, using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, for the identification of antidegradants in raw rubbers, latices, unvulcanized-rubber compounds and vulcanized-rubber products. It is applicable to the 31 types of antidegradant listed in Annex A. Users should note that the method specified is a qualitative one and is not intended for quantitative analysis. NOTE Persons using this International Standard are expected to be familiar with procedures of analysis using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. In addition, it is assumed that the gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer is operated in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction manual and that it is maintained in an optimum condition. Detailed procedures for operation of the equipment are therefore not included.
