Scope

1.1 This specification covers acetone (99.5% grade).

1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. Specific hazard statements are given in 1.3 and Note 4.

1.3 This specification specifies the use of a U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)-designated hazardous chemical, acetone. For hazard information and guidance see the supplier's Material Safety Data Sheet.
