Hazard Assessment Tests for Non-Nuclear Munitions
Hazard Assessment Tests for Non-Nuclear Munitions
Scope
This standard provides or references tests and test procedures for the assessment of safety and insensitive munitions (IM) characteristics for all non-nuclear munitions, munition subsystems and explosive devices.
Notes
Claudia's Notes:
A hazard assessment test program includes a test plan generated along with an environmental profile and a Threat Hazard Assessment (THA). There are basically 3 types of tests used:
IM tests as contained in this standard;
Hazard Classification (HC) tests used to classify munitions for transportation and storage purposes; and
Basic safety tests used to assess munition safety and suitability response or system vulnerability.
