Denna standard beskriver laboratoriemetoden för att mäta ljudabsorption hos platta bullerskärmar eller platta inklädningar av stödmurar eller tunnlar. Den omfattar utvärdering av ljudabsorberande produktegenskaper hos bullerskydd, som på ett rimligt sätt kan monteras i provningsrum enligt EN 20354. Provningsmetoden i EN 20354, till vilken det refereras i denna standard, är endast tillämplig för plana absorbatorer och utesluter framförallt anordningar som fungerar som svagt dämpade resonatorer.
